 THREE CARR BROTHERS

William Morgan, James Austin & Joseph Mae CARR

James Austin CARR  (1863-1944)

He was born October 10, 1863 in either Iowa or Nebraska. Some researchers misread a badly worn letter and showed his year of birth as 1868.  He was always called by his middle name, which is spelled Auston and Austin.  On the 1880 Barry County, Missouri census, he is shown by his first name of James.  He married Almeda Elizabeth Ewing on December 5, 1884 in Barry County, Missouri.   She was born November 19, 1865 in Three Forks, Gallatin County, Montana.  Her parents were Anderson Shaffer Ewing and Exile Liberty Parker.  Almeda died April 16,1902 near Muskogee, Oklahoma.  Her grave site was moved and re-interred in the Greenville Cemetery in 1902.

Auston Carr married Lena Josie Ann Rivers and they spent their last days in the small town of Blanco, Pittsburg County, Oklahoma.  He died August 8, 1944 at home in Blanco and Lena died October 7, 1947 in the nearby town of Kiowa.  They are buried side by side in the Blanco Cemetery.
